What we do

Fencing and gate services in Norwich

A fence or gate is only as good as what holds it up. Posts set to the right depth, rails fixed properly and timber that's been treated for life outdoors are what separate a boundary that stays straight from one that leans after its first winter.

We put up new fencing, repair what's already there and hang gates that open and close without dragging. And because we're electricians too, gate lighting or power at the end of the drive can be planned in at the same time.

Local expertise

Fencing contractors who know Norfolk gardens

Norfolk is flat and open, and wind is the biggest enemy of a garden fence here. A sheltered Norwich garden and an exposed plot out towards the Broads need different post spacing, fixings and timber to stay standing, and we specify for the one you've actually got.

The work itself, carried out carefully and tidily by one team for the electrics, fitting and finishing. You'll know who is coming and what's happening each day.

  4. 04

    Completion

Electrical work tested and certified, every detail checked, and the space cleaned and handed back only when you're happy. Afterwards, you'll still speak to the same person who did the job.

Reviews

Trusted across Norfolk

Verified Google reviews from homeowners we've worked for.

“Phill has just come and completed 5 weeks work for us, in that time taking a complete shell to a stunning new bathroom, a revamped utility area and also fitted a new consumer unit for all our electrics, along with other jobs along the way. We can't recommend him highly enough - Phill took time to make sure of what we wanted, updating us regularly on the plan of works and thinking about all the big and small details to make sure things serve us well for many years to come. Phill is reliable, professional and friendly and will make sure things are finished just as you want. We have booked to have more work done very soon.”

“We hired Acorn Electrical & Home Improvements to carry out some small building works at our barn conversion. Phillip and the team were punctual, diligent and professional over the 2-week project, even when faced with some nasty surprises from an old building. Super happy with the result, and we would have no hesitation in recommending them. We will be asking Phillip to quote for another project very soon.”

Carl West

Barn conversion building works

“Phil has done several different jobs for us over the last week. He replaced a wobbly gate post, designed and fitted a picket fence around a new flower bed, replaced the rotting pieces of wood in a tall fence having taken it to bits, replaced an outdoor electrical socket, and noticed some guttering was not working then fixed it. The main job he came to do was to re-clad 2 sides of a large shed with timber. He has great communication skills so we knew what to expect at all times, and he made sure we were happy at every stage. He came when he said he would, and actually finished the job ahead of schedule. He's friendly, trustworthy and easy to have around, and we have already booked him for another job before Christmas!”

Common questions

Fencing and gate questions

Need a more specific answer? Call Phillip and you'll speak to the person doing the work.

Often, yes. Replacing a post, a few rails or the rotten boards is far cheaper than a new fence, and we'll give you an honest view on whether a repair is worth it.

Yes. A loose or rotten gate post is one of the most common jobs we do, and the gate is rehung and adjusted afterwards so it swings and latches properly.

Yes. Because we're qualified electricians as well, gate and driveway lighting can be fitted, tested and certified as part of the same job.

Yes, removal and disposal of old fencing can be included in the quote.
