Outdoor Buildings · Norwich & Norfolk
Sheds, porches, timber cladding, decking and garden structures, built and powered by one team so they work all year round.

What we do
An outdoor building only earns its place when it's solid, dry and usable. That usually means three things happening together: a properly prepared base, a structure and cladding specified for the exposure it actually faces, and light and power that are rated for the weather.
Acorn builds the timber and does the electrical side, so a shed, porch or decked area is planned as one job, with lighting and sockets designed into the structure rather than clipped on afterwards.
Shed construction, assembly and repair, including bases, security upgrades and electrical supply.
Timber-framed porches and external cladding built, clad and finished to sit naturally against the house.
Level, well-drained outdoor living space built on a frame that will still be true in five years.
Made-to-measure benches, tables, planters and garden joinery in properly specified, finished timber.
Weather-rated, RCD-protected lighting and sockets for sheds, porches, decking and paths.

However small the job, the way we work never changes. These are the commitments behind every Acorn visit.
Every job starts with a clear, itemised quote in writing, so you know exactly what's included before we begin.
You deal directly with the person doing the work, from the first call through to final sign-off. No call centres, no hand-offs.
Dust sheets down, work areas protected and everything cleaned away at the end of each day. Your home is treated like our own.
All work meets current regulations, the business is fully licensed and insured, and certificates are issued where required.
Every job, without exception
No hidden extras
If anything changes once work begins, we'll explain it and agree the cost with you before going any further.

Local expertise
Exposure varies more across Norfolk than people expect. A sheltered courtyard in the middle of Norwich and an open garden out towards Acle or Reedham are completely different environments for timber and for outdoor electrics, and it's worth specifying for the one you actually have. Norfolk gardens also tend to be generous, so a run out to a shed or workshop is a genuine cable-sizing exercise rather than paperwork.

Start to finish
Planning, ordering, creation and completion, all handled by Acorn, with one point of contact from the first visit to the final sign-off.
We visit, listen and talk through the options that suit your home and budget, then confirm everything in a free, written quote. Projects over £500 take a 50% deposit, with the balance on completion.
We source and order the materials, units and fittings, and arrange deliveries around the programme, so you're never left chasing suppliers. Already chosen your own? We're happy to fit them.
The work itself, carried out carefully and tidily by one team for the electrics, fitting and finishing. You'll know who is coming and what's happening each day.
Electrical work tested and certified, every detail checked, and the space cleaned and handed back only when you're happy. Afterwards, you'll still speak to the same person who did the job.

Common questions
Need a more specific answer? Call Phillip and you'll speak to the person doing the work.
Yes, and it's the main reason people ask us. The base, the building and the power become one job, with one point of responsibility.
Most domestic sheds fall within permitted development, but size, height and position relative to boundaries all matter, and listed buildings and conservation areas have extra restrictions. Check with your local authority if you're near any of those limits.
Yes. That means an appropriately sized armoured supply from the house, correct burial depth, RCD protection and usually a small consumer unit in the building. It's tested and certified like any other circuit.
It depends on exposure, budget and the look you want. We'll talk through the realistic options and how each will weather rather than defaulting to one material.
Yes. Any timber left outdoors needs periodic re-treating to stay looking its best. We'll tell you what yours will need and how often, so there are no surprises.
